Empowering you to live your best life
Your first session will be a combination of a consultation online (30 minutes), followed by a treatment of 1 hour. I will ask you lots of questions about your condition, lifestyle and what you are hoping to achieve. My clinic is covid compliant and only one patient will be here at any time. I will be wearing a mask and a mask will be provided for you once I am working within a meter of you. You may need to undress to underwear, gowns and blankets are provided (single use). My needle technique is very gentle and I explain what I am doing every step of the way.
Acupuncture uses fine needles inserted into the skin into acupuncture points. The points are located from the top of the head to the sole of the foot, along pathways called medidians.
There are about 360 different points but the main ones used are below the elbows and knees. The needles stimualte "qi" or vital energy, which over time can become stuck or out of balance. The aim of the treatment is to bring your body back into harmony. The needles are usually left in the body for about 20 minutes and patients often say how relaxed they feel during and after treatment.
The aim is to direct the flow of qi to trigger your body’s healing response and to restore physical, emotional and mental balance.
Treatment is designed to affect the whole you as well as your symptoms so, as the condition being treated improves, you may notice other health problems resolve and an increased feeling of wellbeing
I use one use only sterile needles and adhere to the safe practice guidelines of my professional body the British Acupuncture Council.
Acupuncture can be used safely alongside conventional medical treatment and medication.
After treatment you may feel relaxed, drowsy or sometimes energised. Any reaction to acupuncture will clear within 48 hours. Minor bruising sometimes occurs.
